Rayne meandered down the hallway turning the pages of his latest extra-curricular endeavor, The Life and Times of Gertrude McDougall: Poet, Professor, Magician. It wasn't that exciting to say the least but Rayne fancied himself able to earn some extra credit with something in this book in his next essay for charms. She was renowned for some charm or something relevant to a subject Rayne was taking. He couldn't recall which; he'd just found a list of names on a scrap of parchment and had started with the top of the list. Easy as that.
Rayne was attempting to take notes, read and walk all at the same time and as a result he was moving rather slowly, randomly and getting in a few people's ways. Luckily it was after lessons and it was sunny so alot of the students were outside doing nothing or kissing - stupid passtimes indeed. Rayne stopped with a curse as he spilt some ink on the library book's pages. He placed everything on a little corner table and cleaned up the ink with a wave of his wand. It was then that he decided speed studying was not an endeavor he was good at and he'd wait until he was back in the common room. Hastily he packed away his things and headed for the staircase down towards the Great Hall running, as usual, headlong into someone...

As usual, the morning had failed to produce any interesting events, leaving Destiny Malfoy stuck for things to do. She'd had nothing to do for the majority of the seemingly endless day, and had taken to wandering the corridors once again. Her typical afternoon consisted of this very activity, and most would've grown bored seeing the same things over and over again, but the Slytherins curiousity willed her walk around the castle as much as possible, dying to find something amazingly new that had no doubt been discovered by someone before, but that had long been forgotten by recent era's of students and staff. Exiting the dungeons, Destiny realised that there was barely anyone about, and blamed it on the annoyingly sunny weather that lingered beyond the stone walls. Strange as it was, Malfoy much preferred the cooling rain to the hot beams that heated the small classrooms they studied in. She was just glad the Slytherin common room was beneath the lake, giving it a somewhat damp and chilling feeling.
Reaching the great hall, Destiny crossed her arms over her chest and ceased walking momentarily, watching a small giggling group of Gryffindors skipping down the stairs. What a bunch of complete and utter idiots Her mind shouted, hating the misbehaviour of those students who acted as if they should still be in their baby carraige. Deciding the hall was no place to find anything, or linger for that matter, the blonde turned away from the doors and headed for the staircase, bumping straight into someone who had been running in her direction. Destiny blinked a few times to straighten her vision, and had only been knocked back a few steps rather than to the floor. Brushing herself down anyway, the Slytherin pouted and spat out her insults, "Why don't you watch where you're going, You silly - " As she looked up from her robe, Destiny's eyebrow arched slightly as she looked the boy before her up and down, sure that she did not know him. She'd actually been expecting some careless first year, or at least a Gryffindor who had done it on purpose - but no, it had been an unidentified Ravenclaw? With a look of confusion on her face, she spoke again, this time more slowly with less anger in her voice, " Who in Salazars name are you...?" the blonde asked, not bothering to apologise, or wait for one in return. Rayne, as soon as he hit the female student, blabbered a hasty apology and side-stepped out of her way. He wasn't in his school robe but still had the sweater and shirt on over his black trousers. However, even though he was a Ravenclaw, he had loosened his trademark tie. "I am sorry," he blathered like a social reject, "I'm hungry.. I just wanted to see if dinner was ready.." He gave a cheeky, endearing grin that spread to his eyes despite the fact that he was talking to a Slytherin. He checked his watch - it was a plausible story and Rayne really was always hungry.
Rayne hoisted his bag higher up onto his shoulder, the remainder of his smile still a shadow on his lips and shrugged, "Let the Slytherinly insults reign.. I'm used to it." He didn't really mind if the other student got angry with him, Rayne could take a verbal beating - afterall Six years with abrupt teachers and fok-tongued teachers had hardened his shell.
Rayne's stomach growled quietly. He could hear voices heading towards the Great Hall.. He wasn't that hungry though, he could last another ten or so minutes before he'd feel the need to whine about it like a First year Hufflepuff.

Destiny sighed, deciding there was no energy in her to have a go at the Ravenclaw, and almost walked away untill she heard his comment about her being a Slytherin, giving her permission to insult him. With a raised eyebrow, the blonde gazed at the boy infront of her for a moment or two, before crossing her arms over her chest and answering him. "Being judgemental to a Slytherin would probably get you more than insults, I thought a Ravenclaw would manage to work that out! " Destiny stated, a half cheeky smile of her own painted across her face. Although she would never admit it to anyone, the Slytherin girl had nothing against the Ravenclaw students, as none of them had proved problematic or annoying to her. Moving her hands to place them on her small hips, her baby blues eyes scanned the boy infront of her before she spoke once again, this time looking a little less annoyed. " You didn't tell me your name?" Malfoy asked, wondering if he was the decendant of someone famous. If there was anything the girl loved doing more than feeding her curiousity in books, it was actually meeting the people she read of so often. [/blockquote]
